Mindfulness: What It Is, Where It Comes From, and How to Practice It

This course explores the relationship between the secular mindfulness movement and the Buddhist traditions of mindfulness. It also presents simple explanations of and instruction on the mindful practices of calm abiding, insight, and wisdom. The course format combines four simple introductory lectures and mindfulness practices that can be done at home and integrated into your everyday life.

In each module, there is a 20-minute lecture as well as a short meditation instruction based on the lecture theme of each week. There are study guides for each module which include readings, both foundational and recommended, on each topic.
