Uninformative and interesting .Would welcome more free sessions like this addressing long ingrained patterns of negativity -how to let be let go and let in more effective actively where those are concerned. Thank you.
Thank you Rick once again, I am follwing you through deifferent interviews, and it helped me a lot with my clients and muself.!! Barbara from Argentina
I am very grateful for the offering of an hour of free video communication by Dr. Rich Hanson. I am inspired and I will attend the course. I am a newly graduated mental health counselor and I am very much would love to share the wisdom of Dr. Hanson with my clients and people I am coming across every day.
Really benefitted from the part Rick spoke of regarding driven mentality and need to watch for it. The sympatheric nervous system has kept so many of us locked into being on all the time. It inhibits that flowing in life the ventral vegus nerve to energize ourself.
My question earlier I did not have time to complete as a client walked in but I wanted to know more about a quesiton another viewer asked about Impermanance, “How does one overcome the fear of impermanace. Which I think is the number one fear experienced by all humans.”
Thank you!! Deep thanks, really, really deep thanks.

I appreciate being able to listen to this at another time. Thank you for allowing for the reality that we don’t always control our time, and when we have time to nurture ourselves and grow may not be the time that you have set aside to be available. Because of the way you have set this up those two realities don’t necessarily mean that I cannot learn and grow on my own time line. I am grateful that this experience is flexible in this way
This is very insightful sharing. Thank you Rick for highlighting the principles in such simple yet profound ways. Sincere appreciation, John Yeo from Singapore
I have a person I’m working with who just cannot bear one more disappointment (in his mind) how do you ask someone who is so low, to be vulnerable yet again?
Was not sure where to ask question but thank Dr. Hanson for speaking to us. I like the question by Evelyn on impermantance. Also what to do when in this profession as clients are exhibiting more hostile mannerisms early on which is a trait in 30 years have never witnessed in any prior relationships, even in inpatient work with teenagers. this is new emotional climate. Compassion Fatigue I worry is perhaps what is occurring even though I have always been aware of this from when this label was first brought into clinical work and always aware of. This year it is different this new emotional climate.

Can you speak to the value of visioning – imagining one’s best self and/or seeing oneself accomplish aspirations?
Valuable?
Thanks!

I am wondering about family dynamics where there are those that control and those of us that go passive. Then discover that the passive one are distancing themselves. Especially as we care for our 91 father and have different opinions. But love our Dad.
Question: Hi Rick. I have a hard time standing up for myself. I fear making people angry at me. I tend to freeze. Afterward, I get angry at myself because I feel like I have failed to protect myself or someone I love and care about. Any suggestions on how to manage these emotions ?
One question, please?
What would you personally recommend as a mind-calming visualization excercise, which allows you to bring forth your true nature in a palpable way?
Hey Rick!
Is there a resource you are working on that isn’t sticking as easily as the rest for you, but you know is really essential for you right now?
Hello Everyone! I’m Beverly from Alaska. I love these Q&A situations with Rick Hanson. My question: What is the best way from someone with a history of trauma or insecure attachment to begin developing mindfulness and self-compassion?
The difficulty I have with aspiration has to do with my short term memory. I am not able to recall information that I just learned. this is very frustrating as I am begining to feel that I can not attain my goals because of this. How can I improve my short term memory?
Dear Rick Hanson
Do you have more suggestions for how to deal with self judgement showing up when aspiring for something?
Also thank you for your work it is very helpful to me.
Can teachers at school teach this, like in the mindfulness programmes for schools, even if they haven´t incorporated this in their own lives? What do you think? How long should they practice first? Thanks
My question for Dr. Rick Hanson: How do we effectively heal from aspirational disappointment and move into self-acceptance? What is a reasonable expectation for what “healing” looks like?

What a timely question! Did you feel like Dr Hanson addressed just now it in speaking about affirming the small moments of accomplishment with gratitude, and thereby enlarging the pool of confidence, so that when disappointment occurs, it occurs within a greater space of gratitude and confidence?
Hello from Calgary, Canada. I appreciate Rick’s emphasis on changing the brain neural network i.e. habit patterns. I love this use of mindfulness for lasting change rather than merely temporary state of being.
In Rick’s example of his flub and taking in no one is criticizing him—what if you’re in a situation where you would be judged and attacked for “flubs”? How does this relate to working with that?
thanks

Rick, kindly clarify what you mean when you say ‘love is love; whether coming in or going out.’
I do have a sad spot as someone without either a loving family, significant other or team etc as you sometimes say are all equal to the brain’s core need of connection.
I share this.
Loneliness/aloneness which is not chosen or desired is a hard sad place-don’t see a lot addressing that.
Appreciate the practicality of your teaching.
Thanks.

Dear Dolores, is it still not working? Have you tried the sound button, next to the pause button on the video image (shows up when you move the curser over it)? I’m afraid that, or trying a different browser, is the only recommendations I have — it seems to be working for most folks…
