hello everyone
REALLY looking foward and feeling excited about this up coming summit!
Wow, I love Dr. Kelly McGonigal. I’ve followed her work with compassion but haven’t heard her talk on this subject before. This is a totally different way to look at stress, and something I can keep in mind when I’m wishing for things to just be easier. I can’t wait to see the rest of her video and its free! Thank you!!
I shall broaden the idea of caring to include fear. We can become fearful regarding bad news that implies tragedy or trauma or impending risk of death.
Thank you to Kelly and Shambhala Mountain Center for this gem!
I agree with the importance of recognising the connection between caring and getting stressed. This is why it is often far easier to respond in a calm and compassionate way when dealing with people and situations that are not as close to our hearts. Responding in such a calm way when interacting with those people and situations that are closest to our hearts are definitely more challenging simply because we care more and are therefore more emotionally sensitive.
