The Self-Compassion Break with Chris Germer
When taken together, the three elements of self-compassion — mindfulness, self-kindness, and common humanity — comprise a state of warm, connected presence during difficult moments in our lives. As a way of touching into the healing power of these three elements, we’d like to share a short practice from Chris Germer that allows us to experience them directly.
Coming up! The Mindful Self-Compassion Core Skills Workshop
If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to get started with Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), or could use a refresher on some of the key points, I want to be sure you know about this upcoming online program from our friends at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.
The MSC Core Skills Workshop is a live online intensive led by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Chris Germer that will meet for four, 3-hour sessions scheduled for September 13, 15, 20, & 22, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm PT. It’s an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in some of the key practices and exercises of the full 8-week MSC program in an intensive online format, and is intended for the general public as well as for people wanting to integrate self-compassion into their professional work.

I have faith niw that I can be healed from the pain
Thank you Chris. After a busy morning your gentle and compassionate voice showed up and gave me permission to take a moment to show up for myself. I very much enjoyed my quiet mind moment.
Dear Chris, thank you for this beautiful session, so welcome these days.
Thank you very much. Loving reminder to be with discomfort in a loving and compassionate way. Reminder that we are not alone, validate our experience and allow ourselves to feel it somatically.
Much gratitude,
Thanks very much for this very helpful act of kindness, Chris.
Thank you!
Thank you very much! A nice reminder to heal our souls.
Thank you !
Thanks for these concepts. As time goes on we learn more and more about our capacity and healing I might add. I attended a class about trauma and found it very
interesting. This can be a big boo-boo in our lives. I hope we learn many handles for it.
